Aloevera has been used for several thousand years. Stories about Aloe plant can be found in many cultures from ancient Indian, Egyptians, Greeks, Romans as well as in Chinese literature’s.

There are many legends about Aloe. It is said that Aristotle advised Alexander the great to conquer the island of Socotra to secure its Aloe harvest for his troop’s medical needs. Another legend tells us Queen Cleopatra used Aloe to keep her skin soft and beautiful. We don’t know if the story is true, of course, but recent scientific findings confirm this.

In Recent times:

During World War II, the healing gel of Aloevera was very effective in the curing of X-ray burns. In fact the demand for this leaf was so great it exhausted the supply in many botanical gardens during this period.

Aloevera gel  has antibacterial, antiviral, and anti-fungal properties – thanks to the appropriate pH of Aloevera, no bacteria or viruses can grow. Aloevera gel and the healthy human skin share the same pH (5.2-5.6) Aloe helps the long-term treatment of fungal infections of the skin, including dandruff.
Aloe gel soothes and reduces inflammation – Aloevera contains a promotional growth factor, which accelerates the healing process and supports the processes associated with immune response. Aloe inhibits the inhibitory effect of certain antiseptics (drugs), and helps to heal wounds much faster. Aloe inhibits the release of bradykinin and histamine – tissue hormones, released in response to the shock of tissue damage. These two hormones trigger an acute inflammation in a short time after injuries or bites. And saponins contained in Aloe work as an astringent and reduce swelling, redness, and bruising.

Aloe soothes – Aloevera provides relief for pain, burning, itching, stinging, and all of this thanks to the lupeol (works like aspirin), which the Aloe plant contains plenty of. Lupeol also acts locally anestheticly, and magnesium and anthraquinone compounds help it too.
Aloevera is perfectly capable of helping persistent itching of the anus area, which affects many people, though they do not admit to this. It is helpful in the fight against hemorrhoids and provides relief after surgery for hemorrhoids. Any problems with the skin and the mucous membranes associated with burning, itching and dryness submit to Aloe – also eczema, mosquito bites, contact allergies, and other skin problems.
Moisturizing properties – the aging process is always associated with drying of the skin. Aloevera has the ability to transfer the water directly into the deep skin tissue. This property, which owes to the presence of Aloe mucopolysaccharides, is unique in the world of plants. The whole history of cosmetology lays on an intensive search for ways to “push” water as deep as possible in the desiccated skin tissue and also on ways to keep the water there.

Ingredients of Aloe stimulate the skin micro-circulation in newly formed blood vessels, contributing to a better supply suitable for growing tissue with oxygen. Then the cells of connective tissue are growing, and the process is dependent on adequate blood supply and oxygen. The presence of Aloe in the healing areas of the skin improves blood circulation two-or threefold. Thus, wound healing is two to three times faster when Aloevera is introduced to the therapy.
Aloe cell regeneration – The cells of the epidermis and upper layers of the skin renew every 28 to 40 days. Aloevera can stimulate cell division, especially in situations of tissue damage when there is a need of faster regeneration of cells. Aloevera accelerates granulation of skin tissue through a direct effect on cell division factors. Aloe acts as an activator of fibroblasts, cells producing connective tissue.
