Mango Variety – Begum Pasand –

This variety is indigenous to West Bengal. History or its origin and spread is not known. Fruit is of medium quality and has poor keeping qualities.

Fruit is ovate oblong with base (top of fruit) slightly to obliquely fattened and apex (bottom of fruit)rounded. Sinus is slight and beak absent. Skin is medium thick and flesh firm to soft, fibreless and color cadmium yellow. Flavor mildly pleasant and taste moderately sweet and juice quiet abundant.
